Section 3

Benthic Communities of the Norwegian Coast

In this course, you’ll explore unique underwater environments on the seafloor where gases such as methane slowly seep out from beneath the seabed.

These places are known as cold seeps. They release cold, gas-rich fluids and support remarkable and unusual marine life despite the challenging conditions caused by gas emissions.
